Met and Kent Special Constables hit our High Streets

I wanted to provide you an update regarding Violent crime, which members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey.

On Saturday 5th July 2025 our summer policing plans were kicked off by Op Partner. The Operation saw Met and Kent Special constables come together to share learning and best practice whilst tackling local priorities.

The Special constables, supported by Sutton DWO's provided a significant high visibility presence in and around Wallington and Sutton High Street. This resulted in:

1 x Arrest for an immigration offence
7 x person/vehicle searches
39 calls responded to
Numerous person/vehicle stops resulting in the gathering of intelligence

Our Sutton summer policing plans focus on Shoplifting, ASB and drugs and will see Sutton DWO's organising operations, coordinating taskings and planning days of action.
